In early childhood education, teaching life skills is a top priority. Therefore, SRIGHT Early Childhood Bilingual Preschool regularly integrates essential life skill lessons into our curriculum. The recent emergency response session – fire safety practice for Earth Class – is a testament to our commitment to providing a safe and empowering learning environment for our children.

If a fire alarm rings one day, what is the first thing our Earth Class SRIGHTers would do? The answer was found right on the school playground as our little ones transformed into “junior firefighters.” In a simulated scenario with thick smoke, the children were guided to stay calm and strictly avoid panicking. The most vital life skill practiced was how to use the stairs, move low to the ground to avoid toxic smoke, and use wet towels to cover their mouths to protect their respiratory systems.

Beyond evacuation techniques, the children were introduced to basic fire safety knowledge, such as identifying and using portable fire extinguishers under the dedicated guidance of their teachers.

Every action taken to extinguish a small flame helps children become more confident and understand their responsibility to protect themselves and support those around them. This is an indispensable part of our comprehensive preschool education roadmap, helping children develop quick reflexes in the face of emergencies.

Today’s experiential lesson is not only a memorable moment but also reaffirms the value of early education at SRIGHT: helping children grow through the most practical lessons.
