In modern early childhood education programs, connecting children with nature is a top priority. Recently, the little ones from City Class at SRIGHT Early Childhood Bilingual Preschool enjoyed an exciting outdoor activity, transforming into “tiny gardeners” to personally care for young sprouts.
At SRIGHT Preschool, instead of dry lessons from textbooks, our curriculum emphasizes practical outdoor activities. In a lush green space, City Class SRIGHTers were guided by their teachers on how to observe, gently touch the leaves, and use watering cans correctly.
Innocent remarks like, “The tree is drinking water; it will grow tall just like me!” are the sweet fruits of a natural learning process. By watering the plants themselves, children understand the cycle of life, thereby forming a sense of environmental responsibility from a very young age.
The experiential education method at SRIGHT Preschool helps children absorb knowledge using all their senses. Instead of screen time, they are able to:
- Refine motor skills: Practicing how to hold the watering can and skillfully control the water flow.
- Develop cognition: Understanding the world of plants and environmental diversity.
